The silent man, known for making problems dissapear spent years holding onto a secret that kept him from the one thing he wants most, Blue. Beneath the hardened exterior of this Warrior, rests a heart that beats for one woman. Laying all his cards on the table, he risks upsetting the balance among the Strongs and the club to complete the family he always wanted.
I love a GREAT MC book, and A Lighter Shade of Blue is just the ticket for a summertime MC read. I have not read the first book in this series, but I can tell you, that I will be reading that and any others in this remarkable series as well. Theie is the story of Blue and Shadow.
Bluebell Strong is the younger sister, the dependable one, the one that everyone expects to be perfect in order to offset the train wreck that is her older sister Calla. Both Blue and Calla have grown up in the Kings of Chaos MC (KOC) and both know the rules, family first. When Blue receives a call from her parents telling her that her sister is in jail, looking to serve hard time, they expect her to take guardianship of her nephew Bolton, at least until Shadow's release.
Shadow has thought of nothing except getting released from prison and finally claiming the one thing that he has wanted forever, Blue. But with her being Calla's younger sister, he knows that he needs to tread lightly, he does not want to have her reputation hurt because of his involvment with her. It is going to take everything he has to convince her to give them a shot, to convince her that she is the one, the only one that he has ever wanted or will ever want.
I totally loved the relationship between Blue and Shadow. You get glimps of the past, where Shadow and Blue were when they were younger and how Calla threw a monkey wrench in the HEA that was ment for them. I loved that Shadow and Blue were all about making sure that Bolt was ok, that he got the attention that he needed and the guidance that he needed. I loved that they were the ones that stood up for the boy when everyone else in his life had let him down. There are twists and turns in the story and things happen that will make you go OMG!, but no spoilers for you :)
I truly enjoyed every momemt of this book and look forward to more from Shyla Colt. I give A Lighter Shade of Blue 5 fabulious stars.
