Throttle Me Review

Suzy’s a control freak and has her life mapped out - work hard, find a man with a stable job, and live happily ever after. She’s content with the status quo, but her plan comes to a screeching halt when he enters her life and turns it upside down.

City gave up on love when his heart was crushed in college, preferring to be the typical bachelor. He spends his nights hopping from one bed to another and his days working at his family tattoo shop, Inked. A chance encounter on a dark road makes him question what he had sworn off forever – a relationship.

A night of passion and lust causes them to question everything. Is City the knight in shining armor to the damsel in distress? Can their relationship survive when a fantasy falls apart and a secret comes out that changes everything?

This is the first book in the Men of Inked Series.

First off I need to start by saying I received this book as a gift and I am giving my honest opinion on it!

Oh boy, where to start. I loved Chelle’s other novels and we got a little bit of Suzy in there, so I was excited to read her novel about Suzy falling for the bad guy. And man she didn’t disappoint me.

We meet Suzy, the good girl, looking for just the right man. What she has in her mind and on her checklists are not coming true. Going with the “right” man always seem to fall short for her and one night after having a fun night with friends her world shifts on its axis and nothing is ever the same again.

Big bad tattoo artist biker, Joey “City” comes crashing down into her world and takes her by storm. He is immediately drawn to her and knows she is something special. He hasn’t been looking for anything in a long time but knows there is something about Suzy that he can’t let go or even get enough of.

These two people have that instant connection that you could only dream about in real life. Even though what Suzy thought of him thinking that they would never work, City never let her give up easily. He fought for her even when she tried to push him out. I absolutely loved how even though they were different, neither one of them really changed much to be with the other. Yes Suzy did come out of her shell just a little, but I personally think that she was always that way, she was just raised to be prim and proper. City just showed her it was okay to be herself and not to worry what others thought.

In the end nothing is as it seems, yes City looked like the bad boy on his harley and Suzy looked like the prim and proper school teacher, but when their worlds collided they just completed each other.

I absolutely LOVED LOVED LOVED this book. Cant wait to read more about them in the coming novels of City’s family.

“What’s for dessert?” I asked as he closed the door.

“Anything you want, sugar.”

“You know what I want,” I said with a smile that was anything but innocent.

“Are you up to it?” he asked with a look of concern.

“Question is, big boy, are you up to it?”

He laughed. “Don’t ask questions if you can’t handle the hearing the answer. Eat your food and I’ll show you how up to it I am, sugar.” He placed a giant piece of lasagna with cheese oozing out in front of me.

My stomach growled at the smell and the feeling of hunger finally hit me. I wanted him and I figured that if I challenged his manhood, he’d finally cave. All men are the same in that regard. I cut into the slice and watched all the insides squish onto my plate. The hot lasagna spread across my tongue and I wanted to
moan from the taste.

“That good, huh?” City asked as he scooped a chunk in his mouth.

“What? Did I?”

“Yep, you moaned, sugar.”

My face became heated. “Well, I’m used to Stouffer’s lasagna. This is amazing, City. You don’t know how lucky you were to grow up on this type of home cooking.” I slid the fork across my tongue and slowly chewed, letting all the flavors dance on my tongue.

“I never thought about it. Suzy, you keep making noises like that and I won’t let you finish the next bite.” He set the fork on his plate and stared at me.

“I need my fuel to get better.” I placed another sliver in my mouth, closed my eyes, and made a small sound in the back of my throat.

“You have thirty seconds to finish what’s in front of you before I take your ass in the bedroom and give you something to really moan about.” He crossed his arms over his chest and looked at the watch on his wrist. I shoveled the food in my mouth.

I felt torn in this moment, but the lasagna could always be reheated.

“Fifteen.” He smiled at me and I felt everything in my body convulse and scream to be touched. I shoveled another forkful in my mouth as I chewed like a maniac.

“Five.”

“Wait!” I held up my hand. “I need something to drink,” I said as I hopped off the high top chair around my café table.

“I got something for you to wash that down with, sugar. Time’s up.”
